In Defence of Marxism: Montreal Marxist Winter School 2022

Capitalism is broken. The pandemic has exposed the system which puts profits before needs. At the same time, the ideas of Marxism are under attack. This is no mere coincidence. We are moving into a period of revolutionary upheaval and Marxist ideas represent the best tool to help us fight against capitalism.

It is in this context that we are happy to announce the 12th edition of the Montreal Marxist Winter School under the theme: In Defence of Marxism. There is an urgent need to defend Marxist ideas in the movement in order to fight for a socialist solution to the problems facing the world. We need revolutionary ideas that will enable us to overthrow this rotten system.

As a sign of the growing popularity of revolutionary ideas, the Marxist school has been growing constantly over the years. Last year, our online edition reached fantastic proportions with over 1160 registrants. The 2022 edition was originally planned to be held in person. However, with the current situation related to the pandemic and the arrival of the new variant, we have been forced to move the school online. That said, nothing is lost! We will be taking advantage of these circumstances to gather even more people than we could in person. Help us make this a truly historic Marxist gathering!
